Product composition: Plastic (100% PET) sheet, food-grade silicone tube
Product Features: completely air-tight, good light transmittance, resistance to common chemicals, no obvious void above 100 nm (0.1 µm) under SEM (scanning electron microscopy). The device can trap and prevent the spread of infectious particles in droplets and aerosols.
Indications: dental examination and treatments, oral and oropharyngeal examination and procedures such as intubation, nasogastric tube insertion, gastroscopy, pharyngeal and laryngeal endoscopic examinations.
Assembly of the droplet trapper
Remove the adhesive tape on one side of the plastic sheet.
Fold the plastic sheet into a cone by adhering together the edges A and B as shown in the picture.
Application Methods
Option A
For dental examination and treatments.
Connect one end of the silicone connector to the high volume evacuator (HVE) suction head of the dental unit. Push in at least 1 cm.
Insert the apex (tapered end) of the trapper through the silicone connector into the suction head for at least 1 cm. The trapper should be firmly secured.
Use the base of the trapper to cover the mouth from the philtrum to the chin of the patient.
Option B
For other oral and oropharyngeal examinations and procedures
Tape the apex, or the tapered end of the trapper.
Use the base of the trapper to cover the mouth from the philtrum to the chin of the patient.
Note: Anti-fogging agents may be used on this product to improve visibility. The droplet trapper is manufactured and packaged in a cleanroom facility.
